I don't have a sample of Key Lime to compare in person, but I'm pretty sure it is too yellow. Has anyone else compared it in person? I'm also curious about Sage and Pastel Green. I don't have those on hand either. Any comments/suggestions welcome! -Jen

Thanks for saving me the trouble of ordering all the purples. I'll go with the tropic lilac. Love this group. Can't wait to get the hair accessories done.

By the way, do you know where I can get an Offray color chart? I have the Schiff chart and I've added several of the new colors that are not on it. But that Offray chart is eluding me so far.

Also, do you have a list of Schiff and Offray colors and whether they are the same or not. For example, it looks like Lemongrass is very close but I know the currant was very different. Just wondering.

Do you have a favorite seller? So far I have ordered from Ribbon Queen and Ribbon Retreat. I set up an account at RABOM but it seems like they are out of the colors I need.

Thanks for all the advice. Your site is very helpful.

Take care,
Lorrie

Hi Lorrie,
I agree that other purples look closer on screen, and I really thought that S Periwinkle or O Delphinium would be a match (and maybe I could finally use some of my Delphinium!). But I brought both Schiff and Offray color charts with me to the store (I did not match this in natural light, but in store) and was not happy with any of them. I finally settled on Tropic Lilac because it is the right hue, just a bit too light. The other colors are off, and I try to avoid "clashing". Also, when I can't get a perfect match, I go for something that won't stand out like a sore thumb, and Tropic Lilac will blend nicely. (Amethyst and Orchid are too red, and Orchid is also too light, Delphinium is too bright. I would put Amethyst and Delphinium in the clash category and Orchid just isn't even a close a match).

I looked at the pinks for a long time (there are so few colors in this line it should have been quick to match!). At first I wrote down S Pink and S Hot Pink (and they are fairly good). But, as with most Gymbo lines, there is some variation in color between the different clothing items. So I decided to match up to the items that had the largest amount of each color in the tops (since they will be nearest the bows) and because items with smaller bits of those colors won't appear to clash - even if they are off a bit - because there is so little of the color. Hope that makes sense. So in the end I selected O Shocking Pink (because it may be slightly dark, but the hue is good) and O Fantasy Rose is a really nice match. If you don't have O Fantasy Rose, O Hot Pink works very well.

I wish I knew how they came up with these crazy colors! I was excited to see a cooler purple, but it does look different in person than online. I hope this helps! -Jen

What do you think about O Delphinium, O Amethyst, or O Orchid for Purple Flower? I have a Schiff color chart but not Offray. They look like the closest to me - on the screen anyway. The ribbon queen has a chart posted.

For the pinks, I'm thinking Hot Pink and Fantasy Rose. The shocking pink looks dark and on the blue side to me.

How do they manage to come up with these colors that are impossible to match???

Thanks for your help.

You're very welcome! Sorry I'm so behind in adding instructions - I have been completely wrapped up in getting my other site up: http://ihearthanna.com/
But I do have lots of plans for this site still and will be adding more instructions, it's just taking me longer than I had hoped (as usual!) -Jen
